Ms. Margaret Currie, a citizen of New Zealand and the Executive Director of “Prison Fellowship Mongolia” NGO, has been awarded “Human rights” honour badge of the NHRCM for her 20 year long commitment to and substantive outcome in protecting human rights. Commissioner Oyunchimeg Purev handed her the award on 16 May 2014.
Ms.Margaret Currie, 80, is a midwife and teacher, and she came to Mongolia in 1992 for the first time.
She has implemented approximately 60 projects and programmes successfully in improving the human rights protection and condition within the prisons since 2000.
