III Asian Forum on the rights of the child is to be held in Mongolia


Mr. Byambadorj Jamsran, Chief Commisioner of the NHRCM, and Ms. Dashdeleg Alyeksandr, Executive Director of the Secretariat, participated as delegates of the NHRCM in the Symposium on the protection of the child in East Asia, held from 24 to 26 January 2014.


The symposium which was held on the topic "Protecting a child and his family from human rights violation " involved delegates of research institutions, universities, and NGOs that work in the field of human rights in East Asian countries and raised the discussions on the issues related to children’s rights such as establishment of independent Commission for protecting the rights of the child and founding of “Children friendly city” which was initiated by the UN Children’s Fund. In addition, delegates from the countries in the region including Mongolia, Korea, and Japan addressed presentation on the issues of the rights of the child in their respective countries.

It has been decided that the III Asian Forum on the rights of the child is to be organized in Mongolia in August 2014. In addition, it has been planned to discuss abolition of the worst forms of the child labour and the rights of the child to development and protection during the III Asian Forum.
