Roundtable meeting of persons with disabilities

      A roundtable meeting on “Methods of implementation of the convention on the  rights of persons with disabilities” was organized by the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia within the framework of the project “Public awareness-raising on  the rights of person with disabilities” financially  supported by  the European Union and AIFO, Italian  non-government organization.
    During the meeting, state organizations together with organizations for persons with disabilities discussed the issues challenging  persons with disabilities,  methods of implementation of the convention, especially the necessity for establishing an independent  national monitoring mechanism, following this,  given opinions were submitted to relevant authorities.


           

Training for Oyu Tolgoi employees

        The National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia within the framework  of fostering  and promoting human rights  education, culture organized a training on human rights for employees of “Ivanhoe Mines Mongolia” Ink. Company  between 26-30 April 2010.

   The training had two phases. The first one was focused on over 150 employees of “Ivanhoe Mines Mongolia” Ink. Company  working in Ulaanbaatar.    The second phase was for the  employees of the company working in the field  in Oyu Tolgoi, Khanbogd soum, South Gobi province.
